Year 3 Parrots have loved learning about dinosaurs in all areas of the curriculum. The children have already learnt about the four different types of fossils and wrote explanations for how dinosaur body fossils are formed.
This week, they used this knowledge to create their own fossil artwork. They began by choosing which dinosaur they wanted to create and sketching it out in pencil. The children then used cotton buds as the bones to create the dinosaur skeletons.
Dinosaur fossils have also linked to our science work where the children have been learning about the role of the skeleton. They have labelled the main bones in the human body and compared animal skeletons to dinosaur skeletons.
The children have shown real curiosity about dinosaurs and can’t wait to learn more!
