On Friday 26 April we had our Primary Sports Day at Windsor Park for children from Year 3 to Year 6. The children had a fantastic time competing in a carousel of Track and Field events, focusing on the skills needed and trying to achieve a personal best in each event. These events included throwing a discus or quoit, a javelin or nerf, running 60 and 200 metres and completing the long jump and triple jump. Depending on their performances, the children collected different stickers to add to their Sports Day certificate. All children showed determination to complete each event to the best of their ability and collect as many bronze, silver and gold stickers as possible to contribute to their house total. Well done to all of the children and a big congratulations to the overall winning house Edwards!

Bromsgrove International School Thailand (BIST) will host a prospective parent meeting at Centara Udonthani on Saturday 25 May 2019. We are a leading British international school with boarding facilities, located in Eastern Bangkok. We are affiliated with the prestigious Bromsgrove School in England (one of the most highly regarded and oldest co-educational boarding and day schools in the UK, established in 1553.)

In this meeting, we will discuss why our holistic approach to education at BIST ensures that Bromsgrove students are ready for the ever changing, and dynamic world that lies ahead of them once they graduated. Head of Secondary for the coming academic year, Rebecca Owens, will present on BIST’s academic programmes, university pathways, our enrichment curriculum, and our world class residential boarding provision (which is fully compliant with the Boarding Schools Association (BSA) standards from the UK). Prospective parents and guardians in the Northeast and from Vientiane, Laos, who are interested in exploring an international school education for their children will learn about how BIST can fully support students to be successful in our ever changing and world. On Tuesday 2 April, our Mandarin students enjoyed a trip to the China’s Culture Centre and explored in a range of fun cultural activities, including Chinese traditional dance, Chinese painting and Zither (a Chinese plucked string instrument). This was followed by a mouth watering lunch meal at an authentic Chinese restaurant. It was indeed an amazing experience for all of us!

BIST U9s played their second Football Festival of the season on Tuesday and showed massive improvement from the first. This being the first season that we have fielded an U9 team, it has been a real learning process and the boys have made great leaps forward. Yesterday we won 3 of our 4 games finishing 2nd overall. Congratulations to all the players and thanks to all the parents who came to watch. Special thanks to Khun Chuensonthi for the photos.

This weekend the U11 Boys competed in a football tournament at St Andrews 107. All of the players showed amazing determination. The player of the tournament was Build for his constant positivity, solid defence and first tournament goal!

A huge congratulations to the U15 Girls who came second in the TISAC Football this season. There was some brilliant football today and a few exceptional goals! A massive shout out to Sang Sang who played fantastically and thanks to Nick and Eunseol for their fabulous support coaching.

On Thursday 28 March, our Secondary school Production of ‘We Will Rock You’ took place at Bromsgrove International School Thailand. We enjoyed two musical theatre performances which showcased our students’ amazing singing and acting talents as they produced an outstanding, professional performance. Congratulations to the whole cast and also an enormous thank you to the team of committed staff without whom this simply would not have been possible: Ms Reeks, Ms Drew, Mr James, Ms Meacham, Mr Meddows-Taylor, Ms McGregor, Mr Ricketts, Mr Sweetland and Khun Joe.

Bromsgrove played 3 innings of Teeball against Regents International School. The final score being a 21-15 victory. Two outstanding catches from Max and Justin were noted and applauded by the vocal audience. Communication and teamwork were excellent throughout. The Teeball team is feeling confident going into the FOBISIA championships.

On Saturday 23rd March, our U13 Girls’ football team played in the TISAC tournament at BCIS.
The played so well; winning 1 game, drawing 1 game and losing 2 and achieved a place in the semi finals! 
Unfortunately, despite playing strongly, they lost in the semi final but then were able to compete for third place. This game went to penalties and we won!!
 
Congratulations to all the girls and also thank you to Nick and Kai (Year 12) who helped to coach the team throughout the day.
