Today our boarders journeyed down to Safari World Bangkok. Less than an hour away from school, we arrived early in the morning and drove through the safari park. Here we saw a variety of animals, including rhinos, lions, hippos and lions! After an hour’s drive through the safari park, we entered the rest of the zoo on foot.

Once inside, our boarders got to watch a dolphin show and afterwards we split up into groups to explore this 2.64 km squared open air zoo. The zoo contains a several large aviaries where our boarders fed and interacted with a multitude of birds. Throughout the zoo there are various activitie stations and places to have snacks and food.

As well as regular land mammal exhibits, the zoo also contains a number of marine facilities. At one such facility our boarders got to whole heartedly enjoy a sea lion show.

After over six hours of activities, we finally left Safari World to have dinner at the nearby Mae Sri Ruen Sukapiban restaurant. Before heading back to Bromsgrove for a well earned rest. Tonight our boarders will prepare for a day learning tomorow, before getting their much needed rest.

Yesterday our boarders were lucky enough to have Song share her 9th birthday with us! We celebrated with a song for Song and some cake after dinner. Afterwards we challenged our boarders with a team building exercise that practiced their problem solving and team working skills.

Today our boarders went on their very first weekend trip to Bounce, a trampoline park in the centre of Bangkok. Our boarders were able to play, jump around, try acrobatics as well try parkour at Bounce’s “free running” section. After a well earned lunch, we headed through a rainy Bangkok, back to Bromsgrove. Later our boarders will get to take full advantage of our grass football pitch and outdoor basketball court. Bromsgrove is very lucky to have as much green space as it does, so we encourage our boarders to go outside and enjoy the clean air as much as possible.

Later in the evening, the boarders will have dinner and start preparing for tomorrow’s big trip to Safari World, an open air zoo and safari park!

What a fabulous first week we have had at Early Years Summer Camp! It was rounded off splendidly today with our trip to Harbourland. It was lovely to see our youngest learners grow in confidence over the course of the day, with some of them even being brave enough to ride the tallest slide! As always, the children’s behaviour on the trip was impeccable, and we are very proud of them all.

On Thursday, the 4th of July, campers were registered and dropped off by parents and guardians. There was much anticipation of the fun and exciting experiences to come. Our boarding staff welcomed campers into the boarding houses and gave them a full tour of their new accommodations. After a healthy and delicious dinner the boys and girls had time to relax, play games, and enjoy time with new friends!

Today was the first official day of summer camp, and it was a very busy day! Day campers were registered in our Performing Arts Centre, and all attended an informative orientation in which they met boarding and academic staff and learned about the fun to come in the next two weeks. Following orientation, campers and staff went on a “walk-and-talk” tour of our lovely campus, and they got to see and discuss all of the fun and important places they will need to know about during camp. The tour ended in our classrooms where team-building and color competitions began. Everyone got to know one another, and there were many smiling faces.

After lunch, campers got to experience a “mini rotation” as they went around and had short classes with each of our classroom teachers. We all shared about ourselves and our home countries, and it was a very nice day for all to get acquainted. This was an important day academically, as teachers got an idea of campers’ English skills for the first time. Following our mini lessons, campers moved on to sports time, and all enjoyed a friendly game of dodge ball with our P.E. staff.

All campers worked hard and played hard today, and we are looking forward to an excellent camp this year!
