His vision is to ensure that BIST continues to be a happy, nurturing, and inspiring place where every student can thrive, learn, and grow.

We are excited for the journey ahead under his guidance and look forward to the positive impact he will make on our community.

Here is a brief message from Mr. Montier. Please join us in giving Mr. Montier a very warm BIST welcome.

‘I bring with me over 25 years of experience in British and international education, having served in schools across four continents. Originally from the UK, I am moving from Spain with my wife and our three school-aged children. I also have an older son who is at college in the UK. We are all very much looking forward to relocating to Thailand and becoming part of the warm and dynamic Bromsgrove community.

I started my teaching career in the UK, where I held science teaching and leadership roles, including Head of Science at The Wavell School in Hampshire. These early years laid the foundation for my leadership philosophy—grounded in academic rigour, high expectations, and care for the whole child.

Most recently, I served as Headteacher at St George Madrid, a British International school for students aged 2 to 18. I joined the school in 2016 and over the next nine years, I worked closely with the school’s owners, staff, and families to build trust and confidence in our school. We grew enrolment, achieved IB Diploma Programme authorisation, implemented major campus redevelopment, introduced new digital learning systems, and significantly improved academic outcomes. Most importantly, we built a warm and ambitious school culture where both children and teachers could thrive.

Before moving to Spain, I spent seven years in Malaysia with the Tenby Schools group, leading international school campuses in Penang, Johor Bahru, and Miri. My work involved stabilising school communities, developing leadership capacity, and building strong reputations for academic and pastoral excellence. During this time I also completed my Master’s in Educational Leadership and management at the University of Bath. Earlier in my career, I taught and held leadership positions in Turkey, El Salvador, and Togo, always with a commitment to high standards, inclusivity, and international-mindedness.

Throughout my career, I’ve remained deeply passionate about the broader development of young people. I’ve led Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award programmes in several schools, organised expeditions, and championed service and outdoor education as key parts of a well-rounded curriculum. I believe that the best schools are those that support students not just to achieve strong academic outcomes, but to grow into kind, confident, and globally aware young adults.

As a parent myself and as a school leader, I understand the enormous trust you place in a school to care for and educate your children. I will work every day to ensure that Bromsgrove continues to be a place where your children are safe, inspired, challenged, and supported. I also value open, honest, and positive communication between school and home, and I look forward to meeting you and building those connections over the coming months.

Thank you for the warm welcome I’ve already received. I feel honoured to be joining such a distinguished school and community, and I am excited for what we can achieve together.’
