Introduction

Bromsgrove International School Thailand is a privately owned independent institution which uses the name Bromsgrove under license from Bromsgrove School UK. Bromsgrove School in England was established in 1553 and is a top co-educational day and boarding school in the British Midlands. We are the only school outside England that carries the prestigious Bromsgrove name.

Bromsgrove Thailand is also affiliated with Daewon Foreign Language High School in Korea, one of Korea’s top High Schools and a feeder for some of the best universities in the world. This affiliation allows us to have a successful blend between the east and the west.

Our students are largely either Thai or of mixed heritage, and we also have a strong Korean contingent, with some students also from other Asian countries and a handful from the UK. Class sizes are small, and adult:pupil ratios amongst the best in the city.

Two purpose-built campuses

Bromsgrove is unique in its picturesque Thai setting, offering two specialist campuses on the outskirts of Bangkok, both in close proximity to Suvarnabhumi International Airport. Our Early Years campus is a safe haven, just moments from bustling Ramkhamhaeng road, whilst our Windsor Park Campus (Years 2-13), surrounded by rice fields and golf greens and in its own landscaped grounds, allows us to have large classrooms, big sports fields and lots of space to play, not to mention the lovely fresh air! We boast outstanding sporting facilities, cutting-edge learning and social spaces, and a state-of-the-art, new Performing Arts Centre and auditorium. We are also proud of our boarding provision, which is amongst the best in Asia.

Personalised Learning

We have the ambition and confidence of a larger school, whilst enjoying the intimacy and personalisation of a smaller institution, and we pride ourselves on the level of personalisation we provide for every student, regardless of their profile. A number of our students are academically gifted, and their quantitative, non-verbal and spatial scores place them regularly in the top stanine globally; however, we are also proud of our capacity to address the low levels of English with which many of our students are initially burdened upon entry to the school.

Curriculum and Accreditation

We follow the EYFS Framework and English National Curriculum, adapted for our International context, from Primary Year 1 (age 5) until Secondary Year 9 (aged 14). Thereafter, our students pursue first the international GCSE examinations at aged 16, and then A Level courses at 6th Form level, the gold standard pre-university qualification worldwide. In addition, we will be offering an alternative pathway qualification from August 2016 in a number of subjects. Our students regularly feature in the list of students whose results place them ‘Top in Thailand’ or ‘Top in the World, and we are proud of the academic excellence displayed by so many of our students. We are a member of the prestigious Federation of British International Schools in Asia (FOBISIA). In addition we are members of the Boarding Schools Association (BSA), the International Schools Association of Thailand (ISAT) and the Thailand International Schools Athletic Conference (TISAC). We are accredited by Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), EdExcel and AQA examination boards. Lastly, we are proud to be able to offer both the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award.

Teachers

Our teachers herald predominantly from the United Kingdom and are fully qualified; we also invest heavily in staff Continuous Professional Development, including funding for Masters studies, as we endeavour professionally to develop all staff to an optimum degree.

Competitive Package

Our package is attractive and comprehensive for the region, including an accommodation allowance, flight allowance at the beginning and end of contract, local medical coverage, a relocation allowance and a resigning bonus at the start of the second contract. The cost of living in Bangkok is reasonable, which enables teachers to save a good percentage of their salary each month if they wish to, whilst also having the freedom to travel extensively within the region.
