Secondary Assembly:

Year 13 History students launched this year’s Black History Month by leading an assembly centred on activism and anti-discrimination. They encouraged students to learn from past events, such as the Civil Rights movement and the Black Power organisation, to better understand modern, global forms of activism like the Black Lives Matter campaign. The assembly inspired our Bromsgrove community to challenge discrimination and introduced ways that they could get involved in Black History Month this October.
The assembly was led by Amy (Wen-Yu Tung), Jasmine (Seungyeon Lee) and Mai (Gunyawi Wangwongwiroj) with support from BIST Head of Humanities, Mrs Nagle.

นักเรียนชั้นปีที่ 13 ในภาควิชาประวัติศาสตร์ได้นำเสนอในหัวข้อ “เดือนแห่งประวัติศาสตร์ของคนผิวสีหรือ Black History Month” โดยการประชุมนักเรียนเมื่อสัปดาห์ที่ผ่านมา ได้มีการนำเสนอถึงการเคลื่อนไหวเพื่อต่อต้านการเหยียดสีผิวและชนชาติ ซึ่งนักเรียนได้เรียนรู้และค้นคว้าหาข้อมูลจากเหตุการณ์สำคัญทางประวัติศาสตร์ต่างๆ เช่น การเคลื่อนไหวเพื่อสิทธิพลเมือง (Civil Rights Movement) และองค์กรเพื่อคนผิวสี (Black Power Organisation) เพื่อให้เกิดความเข้าใจในการชุมนุมหรือเคลื่อนไหวเพื่อความเท่าเทียมกันในยุคปัจจุบัน เช่นจากแคมเปญ Black Lives Matter ได้ดียิ่งขึ้น ซึ่งการนำเสนอในที่ประชุมนักเรียนครั้งนี้ สร้างแรงผลักดันให้เกิดขึ้นในชุมชนบรอมส์โกรฟเพื่อต่อต้านความไม่เท่าเทียมกัน พร้อมทั้งเสนอแนะแนวทางที่หลากหลายเพื่อเข้าร่วมเป็นส่วนหนึ่งใน เดือนแห่งประวัติศาสตร์ของคนผิวสี ในเดือนตุลาคมนี้อีกด้วย
การประชุมนักเรียนในครั้งนี้นำโดย Amy (Wen-Yu Tung), Jasmine (Seungyeon Lee) และ Mai (Gunyawi Wangwongwiroj) โดยมี Mrs Nagle หัวหน้าภาควิชามนุษยศาสตร์ เป็นที่ปรึกษา

 

Friday House Challenge:

All of our Secondary students took part in a Black History Month House Challenge last Friday by working in House teams to create presentations about influential black people through history. All year groups took to the challenge with enthusiasm and did their Houses proud!
Each group explored a different theme and House points were awarded for the victors in each year. But there could only be one overall winner with Taylor House the best team players! Congratulations go to the worthy winners but we were very impressed with the standard from all of our students with Edwards and Walters coming in joint 2nd place.

เมื่อวันศุกร์ที่ผ่านมา นักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาได้ร่วมกิจกรรมการแข่งขันระหว่างบ้านหัวข้อ “เดือนแห่งประวัติศาสตร์ของคนผิวสีหรือ Black History Month” โดยนักเรียนได้ทำงานกันเป็นทีมเพื่อสร้างแผนโครงงานนำเสนอเกี่ยวกับบุคคลผิวสีผู้มีอิทธิพลในด้านต่างๆ ตั้งแต่อดีตจนถึงปัจจุบัน ซึ่งนักเรียนในทุกระดับชั้นได้ร่วมกิจกรรมด้วยความกระตือรือล้นและสร้างความภาคภูมิใจให้กับสังกัดบ้านของตนเองเป็นอย่างมาก
แต่ละทีมใช้หัวข้อในการนำเสนอที่แตกต่างกันออกไป ซึ่งทีมที่ชนะในแต่ละชั้นปีก็ได้รับคะแนนของบ้าน (House Points) เป็นรางวัล และทางโรงเรียนขอแสดงความยินดีกับบ้าน Taylor ซึ่งเป็นผู้ชนะจากผลคะแนนโดยรวมในกิจกรรมนี้ โดยมี Edwards และ Walters เป็นผู้้ชนะอันดับที่ 2 ร่วมกัน พวกเราประทับใจเป็นอย่างมากกับผลงานที่นักเรียนนำเสนอในครั้งนี้ ขอแสดงความยินดีด้วยค่ะ
